"So easily forgotten..."

Another Dark Souls illustration! This one was fun because it was a lot more environment-oriented than the others.

Cool piece! As an aside, I also thought the pygmy was a human. Humans have humanity, fragments of the soul that did not belong to any of the lords. Yet they're never factored into the Lords' plans.

Maybe one human in particular was the original pygmy; the first undead. The first human to be cursed to revive him(her)self with humanity.

From what I've theorycrafted myself, I always thought Pygmy was a loser of the "divine race" and found the Dark Soul, thinking it'd grant him incredible power like the others, only to find it barely gave him anything.

That's a cool idea. It wouldn't make him very significant, story-wise though. The phrase "so easily forgotten" implies that the pygmy isn't somebody that can be safely ignored. It's the undead (the possessors of the Dark Soul) that were forgotten and ignored, but ended up playing a very major role.

Wait, but the "Dark Soul" DOES grant him power
But at the cost of twisting him into a perversion of what he once was...
Manus, Father of the Abyss

It was not the soul itself, but what the mage-folk of Oolacile did to him that corrupted him. His emotions were twisted horrifically, he was monstrously tortured to the point that his soul and the power inherent became horrid. A Demoniac power surged forth, transforming the inhabitants of Oolacile into what they are now, and creating the abyss.

Really cool. Not much to go on with the Pygmy, but you nailed it.
